Social Media: Revisited

What You’ll Learn:

HSAE’s March meeting covered social media and Web 2.0 issues. Many Houston associations were just starting various initiatives in this area critical to the future of associations. It was the consensus of all in attendance that this topic is moving so fast, that it needed to be revisited in 6 months.  Believe it or not, those six months have passed!  Many member associations have social media initiatives underway, and it’s time to check in and get great ideas from each other as we continue this important conversation.

 

Social media applications are already playing an important role in most associations. Online communities of your members – or those who should be your members – are going to develop.  Will it be with or without your association?  We’ll have a presentation and panel of staff from HSAE member associations who are active in various social media.   We’ll address questions like there about social media:

• What social media applications are associations using?
• What’s working for Houston associations so far? What isn’t?
• What has your association tried or accomplished with social media?
• How much does all this cost?
• More importantly, how much staff time does all this take?
• What is holding your association back from doing more social media?
