Hello [firstname],

How to Sell to Associations?  Find out at  March Luncheon this Friday

How do we master selling to a board of different personalities, changing leadership and direction?  Associations will want to attend to find out how to create sponsorship relationships and other deals that will fly.  Come hear what a master of salesmanship, Troy Elmore, thinks we should do since every single one of us is in sales.

Elmore has 13 years of sales and sales consulting experience.  He has trained thousands of salespeople and has spoken for many national associations including Greater Houston Builders Association, National Pest Management Association, Vistage, American Institute of Architects, Greater Houston Partnership, and many others.

Troy is a graduate of the University of Houston in their Executive MBA Program.  He also received an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. With this experience Troy can help companies reach their goals through practical, proven, and experienced-based methodologies.

Presidential Insights
By Toy Wood, CAE
2007 President, HSAE

Greetings HSAE Members!

We are off to a great start. Our January and February meetings were excellent, and the March meeting promises to be a real winner for us all. Many of us know and love Troy Elmore and his message is important for each of us – How to Sell our Associations.

The committees working on membership and strategic planning are meeting. Expect your HSAE to grow and become better organized and focused this year. We expect you to be involved. Ask your colleagues to attend. Get your staff involved. The luncheons are wonderful opportunities for team development. Volunteer to work on the bylaws. Or membership. Whatever interests you, let us know.

Also, let me encourage you to enter your association or organization in awards programs. I know that ASAE has awards calls going on right now. Our national association does, too. You cannot win if you don’t enter. For a long time we did not enter because it was just too time consuming, or so we thought. But then, when we won an award – wow, did we change our minds! This year we will enter every category possible. Winning is good for your association – for your board. And just going through the exercise is good for your TEAM. It helps you really look at what you are doing – quantify the services you are offering. It forces you to keep track and be organized. So get out there and win, win, win. It is great to hang those goodies on the walls!

Coming in April!
Bob Hale, president and chief executive officer of Houston Association of Realtors, will tell us his recipe for successful association management.  Hale has led Houston Association of Realtors for the past 18 years as it grew to be the second largest Realtor organization in the country with 25,000 members.  The luncheon will be April 27 at the Westin Galleria, 5060 West Alabama.
